Levi's Brazilian Subsidiary Applies RFID Systems

At the beginning of this year, Levi's in Brazil decided to try out RFID solutions in stores.

Levi's has 78 self operated sales points and uses the same ERP system. Ruiara ú josilva, General Manager of Levi's Brazil, stated that this year's Black Friday, the solution underwent * * * testing,

and this year's event sales increased by 56% compared to last year.

However, due to several factors, the company is unable to determine how much RFID has contributed.

Silva said, "I believe that easily and quickly replacing products on shelves is one of the factors that increase sales.

I cannot calculate how much sales growth RFID has brought because this year we have implemented a series of process improvements and the national economic situation has significantly recovered."

Silva stated that all indications indicate that RFID technology can enable stores to more effectively meet customer needs.

If the company fails to successfully deploy the technology, some sales may suffer losses due to shortages. Currently, the company consumes 50000 RFID tags per month, of which 20% are produced in Brazil.

Levi's is using RFID to track products received by the company's distribution center (DC) through this technology for confirmation, transfer, inventory, and theft prevention.

The company prints labels at the distribution center and attaches them to all products, making it easier for the company to control inventory and the location of goods.

In the store, the company uses an RFID system to count and calculate the goods sent by the distribution center.

The cashier also uses RFID for sales, automatically marking sold items, and all tags in use comply with GS1 standards.

Sitag CEO é rgiogambim said, "We use SGTIN-96/EPC Gen 2 encoding, SSCC standards, and DataMatrix for logistics chain EPCIS data for the entire network's information flow."

At the distribution center, Itag uses Iprint middleware to check the quantity of items and powers the SATO CL4NX printer to print labels that comply with GS1 standards.

The marked product is placed in a sealed box, identified by an RFID channel card reader, and then delivered to the store through the company's selection process.

For a large or partial count of inventory items, Levi 'uses the Zebra Technologies RFID 8500 reader and the itagAndroid Alert mobile application link.

Through this method, operators can directly read and obtain project location and related information in the application.

Levi's store displays labeled items in the sales area. When making a purchase, the consumer takes the goods to the cashier, and the entire sales process will be completed by Levi's integrated Itag Monitor.

The ittag anti-theft 2.0 software will record the invoice numbers of all purchased items to prevent product theft.

When consumers take products that have not been invoiced or recorded out of the store, the software will send a reminder to the store manager's tablet through Itag Alert.

To help control inventory, the product code for each product will be sent to Levi's EPCIS solution. In this way, employees can view the displayed products in the sales and inventory areas.

The product checkout adopts Identity rPad UHF, which integrates circularly polarized antennas, reducing hardware procurement costs and facilitating deployment.
